Reflexology is a specialised massage technique for the hands and feet and is used for the diagnosing and correcting of imbalances in the body. It is believed that within the feet are certain zones that correspond with the body and through massage and pressure the corresponding body part can be stimulated and blocks released. It is seen mainly as a preventative therapy to enhance overall wellness but can also be used to treat digestive and menstrual problems, stress related disorders, pregnancy issues, fatigue and issues in the elderly and children.
Shiatsu is an ancient form of pressure-point massage and based on principles of Chinese acupuncture. Aims to restore a balanced flow of energy through the meridians and incorporates massage, acupressure and elements of osteopathy and physiotherapy. Shiatsu can be used to reduce stress and calm the nervous system, boost stamina and improve digestion, concentration and mental state.
